Compliance with Options Symbology Change
December 7, 2009 – RedBlack Software today announced that the latest release of
Rebalance Express is fully compliant with the upcoming Options Symbology change.
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is working on replacing the old method of
representing option contracts. The old method represents options using a 5 character
symbol. The new initiative is to enlarge the symbol to 21 characters. The new symbol
will contain explicit expiration dates (including day) and decimal strike price
values.
By February 12, 2010, all market participants must be converted to using the new
options symbology method compliant data. From this date onwards, the old format
will no longer be supported. More information on the options symbology change may
be found on the Options Clearing Corporation website.
The latest release of Rebalance Express is fully compliant with the Options Symbology
Change and supports the new 21 character long symbols throughout the application.
